identify and elevate solutions impactful to health care in Colorado
drive innovation forward through fostering pilots with leading provider and community organizations developed and funded as part of the Challenge
Competitors are innovative health tech companies from around the world looking to bring their solutions to Colorado.
Judges are industry leaders and subject matter experts with backgrounds in health care, technology, entrepreneurship, health economics, policy and more. Judges evaluate and mentor competitors on the alignment of their solution to the Colorado health marketplace.
Hosts, organizations with the infrastructure and patient population to *host* a pilot, participate throughout the Challenge, working with Prime Health to identify and interview competitors for potential matches for pilots.
The program concludes in October with our final event, where finalist competitors pitch live in front of a panel of healthcare executives and an audience of hundreds, to win a portion of $150,000 in funding and a pilot partnership with a Colorado host organization. This year there is an additional pool of prize funding dedicated to supporting rural health innovation.
Past host institutions seeking pilot programs include Denver Health, MCPN, SCL Health, Stout Street Health Center, Mt. San Rafael Hospital, AllHealth Network, MHCD, MGMA, Kaiser Permanente, and others.
In 2019, Prime Health is focused on partnering with our host institutions to seek the most impactful solutions to key problems in Colorado’s healthcare future, including:
access to care
Last year, Challenge winner Epharmix was awarded $75,000 in pilot funding, receiving pilot offers from All Health Network, Metro Community Provider Network, Mental Health Center of Denver, and the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. This remote patient monitoring startup increases engagement through phone and text messages, which helps Epharmix collect data on numerous chronic diseases.
