Prime Health 2020 Challenge: Winner Announcement
November 30, 2020 Denver, CO
DENVER, COLORADO Prime Health is excited to announce the 2020 Prime Health Innovation Challenge Winners! 50 companies from around the world applied to compete in one of the top ranked health innovation competitions in the nation and win the chance to partner with a Colorado healthcare organization and a portion of $150,000 in prize funding. The competition ended with a live pitch competition on Friday November 13th, where the top six finalists presented their solutions to 28 Colorado provider organizations for bidding.
Powered by The Colorado Health Foundation, the five-month competition vets and validates companies on a series of business, clinical, diversity and inclusivity, and social impact rubrics in order to identify the most relevant, sustainable, and market-ready solutions to improve healthcare and advance health innovation for Colorado’s underserved and marginalized populations.
More than 115 judges participated in this year’s event, representing a range of perspectives and expertise in Colorado healthcare, technology, community, and business. 17 companies advanced to the semi-finals in August, and six advanced to the final round in October. Over 300 attendees, including the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado, virtually joined the live event on Friday to see the six finalists present their solutions.
Today, we are excited to announce the winners of the 2020 Prime Health Innovation Challenge:
1st Place Award and $75,000: Visible Network Labs
2nd Place Award and $50,000: access.mobile
3rd Place Award and $25,000: Cubby Beds
Lt. Governor’s Office Favorite: TailorMed
People’s Choice Award: Visible Network Labs
Visible Network
Visible Network Labs’ vision is to ensure that no person is without the social support they need to live a healthy and meaningful life. This is accomplished using a network science approach to create easy-to-use tools for providers as they treat patients and clients. Visible Network Labs offers a B2B SaaS platform called PARTNER [Program to Analyze, Record, and Track Networks to Enhance Relationships] that provides enterprise solutions to tracking and analyzing networks, systems, and ecosystems. Visible Network Labs offers a unique combination of experts in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large complex datasets, with years of experience as coaches/trainers/teachers/facilitators of network leadership practices.
access.mobile
Dedicated to improving health access, equity and outcomes, access.mobile offers a mobile solution to communicate with precision and cultural awareness. By applying behavioral science and evidence-based clinical content, access.mobile is able to reduce costs and drive health outcomes. Based on discovery, messaging is designed tailored to the patients’ needs, demographics, behavioral profiles and preference. The HIPAA compliant, web-based platform enables interactive mobile communication. Campaign messaging can be automated by priorities and cohorts to nudge behaviors. Providers or plans can also direct 2-way SMS, with all interactions logged.
Cubby Beds
86% of children with autism have daily sleep issues which compound behavior challenges and stunt physical growth. Cubby Beds help to improve the sleep, safety and sensory stimulation for children with special needs. These benefits are critical to the wellbeing of the child and also pass through to the parent. If the child sleeps better or has less anxiety, it can result in less paranoia, sensory meltdowns, and injuries. The parent can also be assured that their child is safe at times through Cubby’s remote monitoring system. Cubby Beds are reimbursable smart beds that enable a person to control their environment. The canopy blocks outside sensory stimuli creating a cozy safe space. Calming sensory inputs such as lights, sounds, vibrations, weighted blankets, and aromatherapy are used to help with anxiety and sleep.
TailorMed
TailorMed identifies financial barriers to care as early as the patient’s first visit using algorithms and technology to predict each patient’s out-of-pocket-costs across his/her medical journey. The platform then eliminates patient barriers by automatically enrolling patients into assistance programs and suggesting optimal coverage. Given that barriers to care can’t be resolved with a one-time fix, TailorMed monitors patients throughout their entire medical journey from re-enrollment to ordering free medications and supporting the provider revenue cycle management process to reduce the heavy lift of managing patient collections for assistance programs.
Now that winners and funding amounts have been determined, Visible Network Labs, access.mobile, and Cubby Beds will begin working with provider organizations who bid on their solutions to develop and implement funded pilots, supported by Prime Health and the Colorado Health Foundation. Past winners include nationally award winning, innovative, and impact driven companies including Manatee, Meru Health, phas3, STREAMD, Care on Location, CareSignal, Redox, Nymbl Science, CirrusMD.
